About the Bristol Chamber Orchestra

The orchestra was founded in 1963 by a small group of amateur musicians who made music for their own enjoyment and gave invitation concerts. Over the years the membership has increased to about 30 players, several of whom are professionally qualified.

The orchestra gives five or six public performances a year, occasionally combining with other instrumentalists and/or singers to perform symphonies, concertos and choral works.

The orchestra’s repertoire consists mainly, but not exclusively, of orchestral music for strings.

  1. Hello,
I am a clarinet player (grade 8 standard). I used to play for UWE symphony but since having children, I haven’t been able to make rehearsals. I am looking to join an orchestra that is based closer to home. Are you looking for any woodwind players?
