We are delighted to annouce the appointment of our new conductor 

Dennis Simons.

Music Director and Conductor of the orchestras of Saskatoon (1993-97), Shreveport (1996-2003), and from 2002 – May, 2012, Music Director and conductor of North Dakota’s Minot Symphony Orchestra. Guest conducting has included the Toronto Symphony and the Victoria Symphony; the USA; Europe; and Australia.

Guest artists included Andre Watts, Leonard Nimoy, and Anoushka Shankar.

As a violinist, founder Leader of the Alberni String Quartet; Co-Leader of the London Philharmonic Orchestra; Leader of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra; solo violinist on three continents and over 20 solo broadcasts for the BBC.

  1. Good to see BCO carrying on the tradition started back in 1963 when we were lucky enough to have former BBCSO violinist Stuart Redfern as our first conductor. I believe that Stuart had studied under no less a person than Adolf Brodsky, who gave the first performance of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto
